About me...
I grew up in rural Eritrea at 2400 metres above sea level where, as a boy, I had to walk up to 20km to school every day. In 2004, following the World Cross Country Championships in Brussels, I set myself to Switzerland. I became Swiss citizen in 2014. I live in Geneva, I’m married and have a son.
2016 was my most successful marathon year - Swiss record, European champion in half-marathon, seventh place at the Olympic games in Rio. My next goal is the Olympic Games in Tokyo 2020. I’m focused: searching for my limit. On the way, I'll be up against the running elite at national and international city runs as well as at the largest international city marathon events.
